Marzo pazzarella!

Letter 27~
with our investigator federika and
christine goumba, an awesome member of the ward

Hey everybody! It's officially spring here in Rome, and "Marzo pazzarella"- meaning "crazy March" is in full force. We left the house this afternoon and there was sunshine and it was too warm for even a cardigan, now as I look outside I see dark rain clouds. Uh oh.

To walk from our house to our favorite bus stop, we go up a pretty steep short hill. This bus usually comes about every 20 minutes. Today the 4 of us were at the bottom of the hill and we saw the bus pass. This happens every once in a blue moon, but it had never happened when we were that far down the hill. So we take off sprinting and we hear it come to a stop at the bar at the top. Running for all we're worth in skirts and clutching our bags and we hear the doors open. The old dudes who just hang out outside the bar all day start cheering for the "ragazze americane" and we get to the top and MISS IT by a hair. Ahhh. It was then that I really regretted eating so much of that delicious prosciutto tortellini with pesto genovese and mozzerella... Italy!

This week Sorella Cano taught me how to make lasagna. Words can not even describe how difficult it was not to eat the entire pan. We started by making the tomato sauce and the besciamella (cream sauce) from scratch, and the rest is secret. Don't worry mom, I wrote down the recipe :) This week we're going to make lasagna al pesto, which Sorella Cano says makes the tomato one taste gross in comparison. I love having an Italian companion.

The work is going great, still seeing our old greats, Nico and Hossein, plus our gelateria investigator Federika is doing awesome.

We love talking to all the South American people, Sorella Cano will start talking to them in Spanish and then when I open my mouth and start hablando they just about have a heart attack from shock. Love it!

We also had a Europe area authority of the Church, Elder Teixera, come and visit the mission. My zone of Rome East had the conference on the same day as the Sardegna and Napoli zones and I got to see 5 of the people I knew from the MTC! Plus Sorella Argyle who was in Rome my first transfer! So lots of happy reunions and catching up, but unfortunately my camera was dead so no photos of that!! :(
The conference was great and we really got pumped out to go out there and give it all we have and talk with everyone! I've figured out that you can't go half-way, you're either in it all the way or you're sitting the bench. And I for one want to be in it all the way!!

You only get one shot at every day, people!! Your time here on this crazy planet earth is limited so make it count!! Do something you love, create something meaningful, tell your family you love them, let go of the past and live each day like it's your last!!

LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH

Sorella Frandsen
