Letter 28~
Yesterday afternoon we were on the bus when we hit traffic out of nowhere and and the bus driver just gave up, pulled off to the side and said he was going to wait it out. Everyone abandoned ship and we stayed on a few minutes, we had a long way to go and we were trying to decide if it would be better to wait on the bus or just walk. Finally we decided it would be best to walk, so we started walking. I didn't know the area very well but I figured we should be fine if we just follow the traffic, right? Like following the river in the woods or something, right? Wrong!
After walking a kilometer or two we realized we'd gone in the wrong direction and Sorella Cano asked this nice looking family coming back from playing soccer with some friends for directions. Next thing we knew we were in their car, getting a ride all the way to where we needed to go, and stopping to get treated to gelato on the way. Thank you, Paola, Stefano, and Federico! It's impossible not to love Italians.

This week has been just great for us! We got 3 new investigators! Jyoti is from Myanmar, she's 25, speaks 6 languages, and is trying to save to be able to return to her village and build an orphanage. We set a baptismal date in our second lesson. She's incredible!
Rosalba is Italian and one of the most pleasant people I have ever met. That is the best word to describe her. She had so many questions about what we believe, we were like "slow down! we'll talk about that another time!"
Another really sweet moment was saying goodbye Sister Villanueva, a former less-active sister who has really turned around and made the changes to bring her life back into harmony with God. She's been really special to me, we've cried and laughed together through the months I've been here in Rome and I'm so happy to see the light that's come into her eyes. She moved to the United States, to St George, Utah! So it's goodbye for now but I'll be able to visit her once I return home! We took pictures on Sorella Cano's camera, which she forgot at home today, dang!
Last night we went to an American family's house and got to watch General Women's conference in English! And they had made brownies from an American brownie mix! That stuff is worth its weight in gold to us missionaries. Italians don't really do like easy mix/instant meals, surprise surprise.
Last week for Pday we went to Saint Paul's Basilica (see pictures below). It was amazing. It's crazy to think that I (almost certainly) have only got 3 more Pday's here in Rome! This transfer is flying by and I'm 99% sure going to get transferred out, I've been here too long. On Sunday, bishop shook my hand and said "Sister! You're STILL here?!" We've got about 2 1/2 more weeks to JAM and then I'll probably be out!
Shout out to the Italian Postal Service for delivering the birthday package to my family, only 7 weeks late! Bravo!
Love you all! Drop me a line! I'd love to hear from you!
